INTERPRETATION

Interpretation is oral translation. It can be simultaneous or consecutive.

INTERPRETATION FOR IN-PERSON ACTIONS

Events (congresses, lectures and seminars)

Recommended for:

Simultaneous interpreting with a booth is recommended for exhibitions of all sizes, such as lectures, congresses, seminars and conferences.

How it works:

The interpreters are in a booth and the translated speech is transmitted directly to the public through a sound system with headphones.

Differentials:

Fox offers a complete package that includes its own translation, sound and reception equipment.

Interpretation of Amyr Klink for foreigners in a lecture at an Agribusiness event.

Escort Interpreting and Trips

Recommended for:

Local escort interpreting or trips where the interpreter accompanies the foreigner and translates conversations in real time.

How it works:

This type of translation does not require equipment and the interpreter is close by and visually exposed throughout the interaction.

Differentials:

The Fox interpreter assists in effective and direct communication, connecting and maintaining a direct, human relationship between the parties.

Meetings

Recommended for:

Meetings with only one or two participants. May also include the use of portable equipment.

How it works:

The interpreter is positioned close to the listener and simultaneously whispers the translation into their ear. When the listener speaks, the interpreter provides consecutive, or intermittent, interpreting.

Differentials:

In this mode of simultaneous translation, other participants in the meeting who do not need translation will not be disturbed by the constant speech of the interpreter.

Governor Geraldo Alckmin receives Minister-President of Flanders, Belgium, Geert Bourgeois.

Press conferences

Recommended for:

Press conferences with up to 5 foreigners present.

How it works:

The interpreter is among the journalists, outside the view of the camera and provides simultaneous translation of everything said in Portuguese using portable equipment distributed only to those foreigners that need interpretation. When foreigners answer questions, the interpreter provides consecutive interpretation of their responses.

Differentials:

Fox has skilled interpreters specialized in both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting that are capable of providing both modes at the same event.

The Governor of São Paulo, João Doria, praises and validates Fox’s consecutive and simultaneous translation publicly in a press conference.

Translation and Interpreting in Libras

Recommended for:

Large events or those that require accessibility, eliminating the need to hire sign language interpreters.

How it works:

Interpreters and stenographers work together behind the scenes. Subtitles are projected as a caption on screens.

Differentials:

The simultaneous translation, that is, the voice of the interpreter, is not heard by participants. Fox interpreters are experienced in this type of translation, as the pace of speech and choice of words are different from normal simultaneous translation.

Audio description

Recommended for:

Audio description is an accessibility resource for the visually impaired that consists of translating scenes into words through a narrative track. The service helps not only the visually impaired, but also people with intellectual challenges, dyslexia and even the elderly.

How it works:

Currently, the service is available at events of all kinds, such as: films, plays, congresses, seminars and exhibitions, that is, where there is content, the audio description feature can be inserted.

Differentials:

The technology used is the same as that of simultaneous translation. Interpreters are positioned inside the acoustic booth and narrate what is seen and heard into a microphone, respecting natural pauses of the audio and, sometimes, during dialogues, when considered necessary. Attendees listen to the audio through disposable headphones connected to receivers.

The magic of audio description that makes the visually impaired “see”.

INTERPRETATION FOR REMOTE ACTIONS

Webinars

Recommended for:

Online conferences or videoconferences with simultaneous translation, in which communication is only one way; that is, only the speaker speaks and other people watch.

How it works:

Technical questions depend on the platform, but in general, we recommend Teams and Zoom.

Differentials:

Fox has partnerships with streaming (online transmission) and video companies for more robust events including a larger number of participants.

Sua comunicação eficaz com todo o mundo.

Meetings

Recommended for:

Meetings between people from different countries and languages.

How it works:

Each participant connects to a videoconference platform and the interpretation can be simultaneous or consecutive.

Differentials:

Fox recommends the Zoom platform, because it is the most cost-effective and provides simple and easy-to-use additional features specific for simultaneous interpretation. Watch Zoom’s own video to better understand how it works.

Lives com tradução simultânea

Recommended for:

Anyone who wants to conduct a Live using their Instagram or YouTube account.

How it works:

Lives can be interpreted simultaneously, but this requires that users hire services from a company that does streaming. Fox recommends 10Dance. See here for more information. For consecutive interpretation of lives, Fox recommends a short and dynamic translation, where the interpreter can conduct the Live. See an example with bestselling author Cassandra Clare.

Differentials:

We offer consecutive and simultaneous services at the same rate and work with partners to assist in a simple and efficient way. We allocate interpreters according to the subject and area of expertise of the professional.

Speeches

Recommended for:

Remote simultaneous interpreting for events of all sizes, such as lectures, congresses, seminars and conferences.

How it works:

The interpreters are in a booth and the translated speech is transmitted directly to the public through a dedicated platform or link.

Differentials:

Fox was a pioneer of this mode in Brazil, specializing in virtual events of all sizes.

Fox Traduções Técnicas simultaneously translated Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO. The simultaneous event took place via a live broadcast at the Facebook Developer F8 conference.

Real-Time Subtitles

Recommended for:

Events of all sizes that require accessibility and translation.

How it works:

Interpreters and stenographers work together behind the scenes. Subtitling is projected as a caption on the screens for all participants.

Differentials:

The simultaneous oral translation, or the voice of the interpreter, is not heard by participants. Fox interpreters are experienced in this type of translation, as the pace of speech and choice of words is different from simultaneous oral interpreting.
